TBTG'S DEVELOPER LOG #1 - 7/8/24

it's never over!

i've been wanting to create a new awesome mapping series for a while now. i have a few ideas but i think that an afotw in 20000 reboot is the best option. a few basic plot points will be ported directly from the original series (made by our beloved christian mapper thesoccerdude16), and the map be the same (except for the palette). before i actually start getting back to work on the series itself i have to figure out a few aspects

the map

without a map there is no mapping. its literally in the name. thats why i need to create a map that not only works but also looks really good to almost everyone. i've already talked about the map previously in this channel. the problem is the original map looks like doo-doo. tsd16 probably made the map in 5 minutes without a clue about the implications that it would have in the future (afotwbit reference).

as for modifying the map, a famous scratch animator and youtube mapper known as igorgamingmaker told me that i should make the entire map darker and add a purple hue. no idea what that means but it's probably good advice. he also told me that i shouldn't use my current color scheme because it looks like tno. also probably good advice (now that i think about it the dark mode mapping thing kinda looks bad). with that advice i whipped up a map that looks good enough to be the greatest mapping series of all time.

the plan for the map is to trace a vector outline of it. this is so that i can use it for zoomins that dont make the map look like a myopic person's point of view. there we go. the map is done. you can see it at the bottom along with the vector version.
